Three weeks in already! New bar food service. Take-out available.

Tuesday 21 July

Hard to believe we're already into our third week since reopening! A massive thank you to everyone who's been in - your support truly is appreciated.  And thanks also for going along with hand-sanitising, Test & Protect, physical distancing, no standing, no music, not to mention those screens between tables. (The sooner we can be rid of those the better.) But really, even with all these constraints, it's so good to have folks back in the bar, and hearing the craic come back. Very welcome indeed. Let's just hope that measures are eased further soon.

They say necessity is the mother of invention, and while our trio of 'FINE at home' super-chefs are creating gastronomic treats in the kitchen, we've been busy getting our mid-bar food operation going. Our range of delicious quesadillas is proving a hit. This originally Mexican sandwich of two grilled tortillas, with lovely hot fillings, is perfect pub grub, so take a look at the menu when you're next in. Parma ham and 'nduja? Chicken & chorizo? Veggie? (And to the question of how on earth do you say it, my version is: KAY-SA-DEE-AH.)  Then there's loaded nachos (solo or big share plate), our original Penman's cheeseburger, a new, and very tasty, 'shroom & beetroot plant burger, not to forget original and veggie hot dogs. And chips. Yep, we managed to work that one out, so they're back.  We'll add other dishes as we go - thought we'd keep it simple for now.

**Available for take-out**

All dishes are available for take-out. Check out our menu on this website and call us on 01333 311 587 to order. Payment when you pick-up. (We're getting phone card payments sorted.)

Food is available Wednesday to Sunday.

A few quick other things:

  • beer supplies are slowly getting back to normal. Caly Best should be on from the end of this week (fingers crossed) but there's still no news about Joker IPA. Tennents, Guinness, Magners, and Ovenstone 109 are all pouring very nicely.

  • please bring a payment card with you. Contactless is by far the safest way to pay at this time.

  • all non-household groups should remain physically distanced. See government's rules here.

  • max. size of any group sitting together is eight people.

  • we're a 1m distanced premises and we've got all the measures that permit this in place. We'll be happy to take you through all this when you visit.

That's it for now! See you all soon.
